Brad Paisley celebrated another number one with his song “The World.” Typically number one parties are held at ASCAP or other songwriting facilities, but not this one. Brad, his music friends, and a few little people took over the Adventure Science Center.

Everyone gathered in the dark atrium for a special video viewing on the dome ceiling. I decided when I get some money (lots of it) I’m making my bedroom ceiling like that (yeah right)!

Producer Frank Rogers, didn’t show so his cute kid stood in his spot. Brad even gave him an impromptu interview that had the crowd cracking up. Brad asked, “Frank do you have anyone you want to thank?” The boy replied, “No!” Brads response, “Just like your father!”

Of all the pop country musicians Brad is my favorite. He still seems to hold on to country tradition and he always pays respect to those who have set standards in the country genre. Brad is also one of the sweetest country stars I’ve interviewed and well…he is so cute! His wife Kimberly Williams, from father of the Bride, is pretty cute herself.

Did you know Brad use to be an intern at ASCAP right here in Nashvilel? It looks like he paid his dues! Since his debut in 1999- his success has been in overdrive! He performed a fabulous collaboration with Dolly Parton, “When I Get Where I’m Going,” which topped the charts. The follow-up, “The World,” became the fastest-rising hit of his career, logging three weeks at #1. He’s now scored twelve Top 5 hits, including six #1s!” He is a five-time CMA Award winner and now stands as the most nominated for the 2006 CMA awards, surpassing Johnny Cash, Brooks and Dunn and Toby Keith.

Brad also has earned ten career Grammy Award nominations, including four for the 2006 awards.
At only 29 years old Paisley became the second-youngest member of the Grand Ole Opry. He is only 34 now and just getting started!
