Songs of the Year Party…

Who doesn’t love Cracker Barrel biscuits and blackberry preserves? Now the country store has something to satisfy your ears! Tuesday night I got a sneak peak at the new Songs of the Year release at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Trace Adkins, Jo Dee Messina and Lonestar were in attendance. Trace’s first question to me, “Do I have any chocolate in my teeth?” There was a pot of chocolate fondue, fruit shish kebabs and plenty of cakes and cookies! He’s hilarious and you have to love his deep tone of voice!

Trace performed an amazing version of “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down.”
Lonestar got caught up talking with me about Carrie Underwood’s socks. Apparently she strutted some knee-hi’s resembling that of the Wicked Witch of the East at a recent game of bowling.
Jo Dee Messina talked about how busy she’s been on the road.

The room was perfectly decorated with rocking chairs, old-timey pictures and checkerboards scattered about. Before the show got underway, Fox News Channel’s Mike Straka and I had a checker duel and of course ABC won the table!

The CD features Willie Nelson and Jack Ingram, Deana Carter and Heart, and Jamie O’Neal singing with Michael McDonald (and much more). It is now officially on Cracker Barrel shelves.
Stay tuned for the invite only concert November 5th at the Schermerhorn featuring many of the performers!
