Big CMA Winners!

Kenny Chesney won Entertainer of the Year and Brooks & Dunn‘s inspirational song Believe won three awards, including Single and Song of the Year, at the 40th Annual Country Music Association Awards. Brooks & Dunn, who were also the hosts, took home yet another Duo of the Year award. The guys opened the night by performing Building Bridges with guests Vince Gill and Sheryl Crow.

Keith Urban won Male Vocalist of the Year for the second year in a row. Keith, who is in rehab for alcohol abuse, still received a standing ovation when his name was called. Ronnie Dunn accepted the award and read a letter from Keith that thanked his friends and family and wife Nicole Kidman. “I’m looking forward to coming home and seeing you all soon,” Urban said in the letter.

The big shocker of the night came when Carrie Underwood beat out Martina McBride, Faith Hill and Sara Evans for Female Vocalist of the Year. I’ll have more on that in my next post.
