Chicks Lead the Pack!

dd_Grammychicks.jpgThe Dixie Chicks raked it in at the Grammys, despite being shunned from country radio. The trio won all five Grammy awards they were nominated for!

The Chicks no-regrets anthem “Not Ready to Make Nice” won the ladies several coveted awards. They took home statuettes for song, record and album of the year. The group also garnered best country album and best country performance by a duo or group with vocal.

“I’m ready to make nice!” lead singer Natalie Maines said upon accepting the album of the year award.

Former “American Idol” Carrie Underwood took home the shiny award for best new artist. The 23-year-old country singer also earned the Grammy for best female country vocal performance. Underwood’s single “Jesus, Take the Wheel” earned a Grammy for best country song, that award went to the songwriters.
