Just Hangin’

bobby.jpg The best place to hang at Bonnaroo (Yes I am STILL talking about it) is backstage. The V.I.P. has its perks of air-conditioned tents, hammocks, nicer porta-potties and free water, but the artist pass is the key. I have scored a couple of artist passes in my Bonnaroo days, allowing me access to some of the A-list talent, free shoes and cold beverages. This year the artist area had an open bar, free ice-cream, free Timberland boots, free tennis shoes, gift bags, canopy tents and the like.

While walking around this year, I ran into a slew of my favorite local artists. Pictured is Morgan Jahnig of Old Crow Medicine Show and Bobby Bare Jr.

Bo Bice (American Idol runner-up to Carrie Underwood) was chilling with some pals in the RV area. He apparently lives down the street and comes annually. Bo told me he was even the Bonnaroo King a few years back, serving as grand marshal of the masquerade parade.

The legendary Beatle Bob was also among the tens of thousands hanging at Bonnaroo this year. Bob is a well-known figure in the music scene; you can usually catch him with his mop top dancing at shows. I always say he is good luck for an upcoming band if he makes an appearance at their concert. I snapped his pic when I bumped into him hanging in the middle of the mayhem at The Police show.
