Stray Cats, Pretenders and ZZ Top Oh My!

zz.jpg Oh yes, some of the greatest names in rock all under one roof! Put these three bands together and you also the perfect mix for the best people watching. Oh and yes I am fully aware that these pictures aren’t so good. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera and had to make-do with my pals. That is ZZ Top if you are trying to figure it out.

It was a weak turnout Wednesday night at The Sommet center, but that didn’t stop us from having fun.

I was most excited about seeing the Stray Cats and they didn’t disappoint. One complaint, we needed a dance floor! I had an itch to swing dance. They kicked things off with the Stray Cat Strut, and followed with all their hits (that I could name). They wrapped up with Rock this Town and played I Fought the Law as an encore. Their signature sign hung over the stage.

Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders freakin’ rocked! She looked smoking hot in her painted on jeans and red knee-hi boots (Uhhh I so wish my pic’s had turned out).

Anyway, she talked about ZZ Top beings “Gods of men” and that she would be “the girl in the back smoking a joint.” Chrissie also said that she had a wonderful couple of days off in Nashville. I wonder where she hung you know? If so Email Me!

The Pretenders also dedicated a song to Joe Strummer of The Clash, who I also happen to be a big fan of. Chrissie also gave a big, big shout out to Bob Dylan before going into Forever Young. It was almost like these two have a romantic relationship going on.

ZZ Top took the stage last, satisfying the dozens of guys that came out with their fake beards on.

A Steph in the City spy says American Idol finalist Bo Bice was spotted at the show. He was escorted by a “pretty lady” and they sat about 10 rows from the stage. Apparently, they went backstage after the Stray Cats performed.
