Love is in the air~

Yes it is the month when lovers celebrate love, but it is also the time Nashville State Community College throws it’s annual Sweetheart Gala. The fifth annual Sweethearts for Scholarships Gala took over Loew’s Vanderbilt Hotel last weekend, with a list of local stars.

Executive Director Brent Young (pictured) hosted the event, which benefits the NSCC Foundation. I was impressed with Young’s ability to turn what could have been an ordinary gala into a hip event.

Ty Herndon (What Mattered Most) performed a few songs, as American Idol finalist & CMT’s Gone Country star Diana DeGarmo (pictured) sat nearby. Also in attendance- Josh Johnson from HGTV’s Design Star and actor J.P. McNeely (pictured) from Walk the Line.

The night included a delicious dinner, all you could drink wine and a list of fabulous items in the silent and live auction. It was a great night, but most importantly it was a good cause. The money went to providing scholarships for students at Nashville State.
