Not a Trace~

I really wanted to use the “Without a Trace” headline, but I used it the first time I wrote about the possibility of the Village restaurant and bar closing. Now, it is true. The doors to The Trace are all locked up.

The final night (last Thursday) was absolutely slammed wall to wall. I’m not sure if everyone wanted to toast away the one time hot spot or take advantage of the half price menu.

Owner Ken Perry tells me someone will reopen the spot soon, but won’t spill the beans. Perry has faced an eviction lawsuit in recent times, but says The Trace no longer faces that notice. He also says he is not claiming bankruptcy.

Perry was the owner for just over 3 years and says it’s been a good ride. Now he is considering going into healthcare. The Trace has been in The Village area for ten years, it was Faison’s before.

Among those pictured- Ken Perry, Birthday boy and manager Cole, my Monday night bartender Jim O’Shea and DJ Tommy B.
