What’s that smell?

Did you smell something fishy in downtown Nashville over the weekend? Thousands of folks came out for more than 15,000 pounds of crawfish, fresh from Louisiana, for the second annual Nashville Crawfish Boil at Riverfront Park.

The event is now one of very few outdoor concert series in Nashville that features music other than country. 3 Doors Down, Franklin’s own Paramore, T-Pain (Apple Bottom Jeans), Papa Roach, The Presidents of the United States of America and Finger Eleven were among this year’s performers.

The crowd got a little out of hand after The Presidents of the United States of America (remember the song Peaches) performed when someone threw a plastic beer bottle at lead singer Chris Ballew. He touted, “missed me” and then hundreds of cups, bottles and trash were chucked up at the stage. He ultimately had to run off to take cover. Hope we didn’t scare him away.
The crowd Saturday night was a bit young for me, so my pals took a fabulous spot on the roof of a downtown building.
