Flip the switch- this art glows!

The lights were flipped off at Limelight over the weekend as Untitled Artists Group held it’s annual fundraiser, “Glow: An Illuminated Art Event.” Dozens of artists displayed their illuminated artwork, while stage performers kept the audience in awe.

Sunny Becks of Hooprama twirled her LED lit hoop, illuminating the stage with colorful tracers. Linda Bellydance mesmerized the audience as she balanced a candle on her head as she shook her hips and Lux-O-Matic of Music City Burlesque performed my favorite Mr. Sandman number. D.J. Synapse Trap and Jesse Valentine provided ear candy and burlesque cutie Miss Lolly Pop emceed the event.

There was an exhibit featuring local artwork that functions in the dark and a photography slideshow by SNAP Nashville. You could even become part of the exhibit with your own neon body art.

Glow raises money for the Untitled Artists Group – an artist-run non-profit organization. Members of the group say it was their best turnout yet. For more info check out untitlednashville.org

On a side note- Limelight Nashville owner Kenny Winchell (pictured with me & DJ Rob) has done a great job at turning the Woodland Street venue around. It’s a nice spacious spot, with a topnotch sound system. I look forward to attending more events there.
