My Morning Jacket at Riverfront Park~

Despite the band’s name a jacket was the last item you needed Friday night in Music City. The weather couldn’t have been any better as more than 5,000 fans came out to Riverfront Park for My Morning Jacket. The harmonies from the band filled the downtown air as the fireworks from the Titans game lit up the sky. The General Jackson cruised by several times as the crowd danced along with the ripples in the Cumberland River.

It was perfectly packed, with enough space to get right in front of the stage with no problems. A carnivalesque sweet stand peaked our interest for fresh squeezed lemonade. I know my carnival foods relatively well, but this is the first time I’ve seen fried alligator eggs dipped in chocolate. Yea, we decided to skip trying them.

Outback Concerts & Great Big Shows put on another stellar show Sunday, with Staind, Hinder and Theory of A Deadman. Some 7,000 folks flocked to the river for that show. Kendall Maffett with Outback (pictured) says they are looking forward to doing more shows at Riverfront.
