Bar Twenty3 to close after Halloween bash~

Another one of Nashville’s hottest clubs is closing its doors. Bar Twenty3, or two dots three dots as we like to call it, will close at the end of the month after five years of fun.

Co-owners Austin Ray and Benjamin Goldberg took a risk opening the corner building in the Gulch area and success followed the project.

“We figured if we created a space different from anything else Nashvillians had ever experienced, the people would come. And they did,” said Benjamin Goldberg, co-owner of Bar Twenty3 said via press release. “The bar has sustained a constant clientele and retained an incredible staff. But with the expiration of the lease, we made the choice to close Bar Twenty3 as it is now—a popular, well-loved nightspot that helped to accelerate the club scene in Nashville.”

Austin Ray, currently is involved with resort development in Nicaragua and is opening a new neighborhood bar called The Melrose on Franklin Pike this fall. Both Ray and Goldberg have plans for additional projects in the future.

Bar Twenty3 has received many awards over the years, including Top 30 Night Clubs in the World from Conde Nast Traveler, Top 100 Nightclub in America from Nightclub and Bar Magazine, and a handful of Nashville Scene awards. It has also hosted a list of celebrities including Paris Hilton, Nicole Ritchie and Kid Rock.

The club has many fond memories for me personally. It’s where my boyfriend and I first kissed and where his brother first bonded with his future wife. My pal Heather Byrd and I started scoping out the night scene there when it opened, in our special corner spot by the bathrooms. Nashville Party hosted some of Nashville’s best parties at the hot spot, including Halloween and New Years bashes.

Bar Twenty3’s final night will be October 31st. Sad.

The pic is from one of my many crazy nights there.
