Next Big, Big, BIG Nashville~

I am finally getting around to posting my Next Big Nashville festivities. The five day festival featuring more than 250 artists at multiple venues around Nashville has long come and gone, but not without leaving another mark in Music City’s history.

The hard part of the event is getting around to see ALL of the great music offered, not to mention the industry panel discussions. I made a mere dent in my festival weekend. Above are the pic’s from Friday night, when I hit up the Cannery Ballroom for Paper Route, Autovaughn & Superdrag. I then headed over to City Hall to catch The Dynamites and late night went back to Mercy Lounge for Lord T and Eloise who put on a heck of a show in costume, that had most everyone shaking their rumps.

I enjoyed spying festival performers hanging in the crowd and listening to other artists. You can see Space Capone, Ligion, the boys from American Bang and Egon were just a few I caught taking in the tunes. Also pictured- the man behind the festival, Jason Moon Wilkins and Brice of Isle of Printing with his fabulous posters!

Below are pics from my Saturday at NBN.

Saturday morning I headed to BMI’s brunch at Cabana and was surprised at how many rockers were up and at it. I guess it’s all about rubbing elbows. Needless to say, I was impressed!

Later in the evening- I caught BMI’s MONA at Mercy Lounge, The Features at City Hall and the sweet DJ beats of L.A.-based Hell Ya!. Their bubble machine had my pals eating bubbles, while dancing and sliding across the hardwood floor. Downstairs, we checked out the final festival farewell party with The Features & Jensen Sportag. Special festivities included free screen printed T-shirts, a photo booth by Jonathan Kingsbury & a salon “dare chair.”

In it’s third year now, Next Big Nashville continues to grow and prove that there is much more than country music in Nashville. Kudos to festival mastermind’s Jason Moon Wilkins & Ethan Opelt for another great year.
