Backyard Olympics conquers goal for Shelby Park~

Folks from all over the Country gathered in the backyard of Tom & Stacia Hadley, in East Nashville, for the 4th Annual Hadley Backyard Olympics Saturday. The event welcomes participants of all ages and features an Olympic competition in good ole backyard games.

The event kicked off with the running of the torch by last year’s champion, Conner Painter, then skills were tested in Kickball, Basketball, Horseshoes, Disc Golf, Dizzy Bat, Cornhole, everyone’s favorite Egg Toss and two activities from the hit TV game show Minute To Win It. The kids have conquered the adults for the gold medal, two years in a row now.

The Hadley’s took the opportunity to give back to the neighborhood again this year and raised more than $1,000 for Friends of Shelby Park. The money will help with improvements to the park and Community Center Hill. We still have our fingers crossed that the park will one day get a Disc Golf Course.

Thanks to the Hadley’s for being such great hosts!
