Danger Mouse, members of The Black Keys & KOL come out for Questlove~

Questlove packed the house Monday night at Mai, drawing hundreds to the dance floor for his beats. Grammy Award winning artist Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley), Dan Auerbach< of em>The Black Keys and Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill along his wife Jessie Baylin were among those hanging in the VIP. Questlove was kind enough to take photos with fans in the VIP, before jumping on the turntables.

His musical background is quite impressive. What isn’t on his resume is my question. Ahmir Thompson is known mostly as a drummer for the Grammy Award-winning band The Roots, but his professional talent extends well beyond drumming. He is also a DJ, music journalist, record producer, Broadway producer and the list goes on. He has worked with artists from Erykah Badu to Jay-Z, John Mayer and even Hank Williams Jr. You can see him regularly with The Roots on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Ahmir grew up backstage at doo-wop shows with his parent’s band, just an interesting nugget of info.

His DJ set kicked off Monday with Nashville’s own DJ Wick-it, Manuel, Dee Goodz (who just released this new video ) and recent Bonnaroo winner Chance Warhol.

Among those pictured are Questlove, Chance Warhol with Taylor Wrench, Vance Fite, DJ Rawtune and Aaron Miller, Julie Garcia, DJ Don Juan (1025 The Party), Mark Hobson and Fox 17′s Stacy McCloud.
