Grand Ole Opry Marks Anniversary of Music City Flood

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 4, 2011) Last evening the Grand Ole Opry marked the first anniversary of the flood that devastated much of Nashville with a star-packed show celebrating Music City’s heart and resilience. The show, Play On, Nashville!, included dynamic performances by Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Charlie Daniels Band, Brad Paisley, and a special appearance by super group Alabama. This was the first time Alabama had played the Opry since the group’s 1982 debut on the show. After performing with Paisley on his current single, “Old Alabama,” the group played “Tennessee River” with Paisley and band backing and received a standing ovation from the sold-out crowd.
