Americana Awards show is a star studded sell out~

From Robert Plant and Gregg Allman to Emmylou Harris and Lucinda Williams, the 10th annual Americana Music Association Awards sold out for the first time in the event’s history.

Emmylou Harris and Alison Krauss kicked off the show at the Ryman Auditorium with I’ll Fly Away, while Gregg Allman closed the evening with Melissa, followed by an all star finale of Glory, Glory Hallelujah. Jim Lauderdale served as master of ceremonies and award winner Buddy Miller led an all-star house band.

Lucinda Williams, Gregg Allman, Jerry Douglas, Rick Hall and Bob Harris were presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards throughout the evening. Robert Plant took home Album of the Year, Buddy Miller won Instrumentalist of the Year, Mumford and Sons scored Emerging Artist, while Justin Townes Earle won Song of the Year and The Avett Brothers received Group of the Year.

The Honors & Awards is the capstone event of the Americana Music Association’s Festival and Conference running through Saturday in Nashville.
