Highlights from ASCAP’s Red Carpet~

Awards week has officially kicked off in Music City. The ASCAP awards were held at Gaylord Opryland on Sunday night and I had some fun with the artists on the red carpet. Check out my interviews in the video below as Angaleena Presley of Pistol Annies sings my fav song just for our cams, Kenny Loggins lips are tight about breakfast, but not about what he’s wearing, how Lee Ann Womack celebrated her 12th anniversary at the music event and more. More than 35 songs were honored throughout the evening, which also included performances of ASCAP’s most played country songs of the year. Dierks Bentley and Josh Turner were among those that performed. There was also a special tribute to Don Williams, which included a performance by Keith Urban. Little Big Town joined him on stage for We’ve Got a Good Fire Goin’, Lee Ann Womack performed Williams’ Lord, I Hope This Day is Good and the honoree himself surprised the audience with a song.

Ben Hayslip was named Songwriter of the Year, Brad Paisley took home Songwriter/Artist of the Year and The House That Built Me was names ASCAP’s Country Song of the Year.

Monday night I will be at the SESAC Awards, Tuesday it’s off to the BMI Awards and Wednesday the CMA Awards will wrap up a week of star studded events in Music City.
