Kip Moore spends Valentines Day celebrating a #1

Kip Moore spent Valentines day at the BMI offices celebrating his 2nd consecutive number one, “Beer Money.” I caught up with Kip and co-writers Troy Verges and Blair Daly to talk about how special it is to share their accomplishment as friends. “Beer Money” is the second single from Kip’s debut album ‘Up All Night’ to capture the No. 1 spot in just seven months. ‘Up All Night’ is the best selling debut album from any country artist released in 2012. Catching up with The Mavericks

Grammy-winning vocal group The Mavericks announce the release of ‘In Time,’ their first album in seven years and their first for The Valory Music Co. I caught up with the guys for Yallwire as they played a special show at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville. The band talks about the project that coincides with the 20th anniversary of their debut album, “Come Unto Me” being featured on the television show Nashville, and their upcoming travels.

Sunny Sweeney chats about her ACM Nom & the story behind her “Click in the Box” video campaign

Sunny Sweeney has long been known for her singing skills and now she can add the recognition of an ACM Award nomination to her list of accolades. I sat down with her to talk about the honor as one of three nominees for The Academy of Country Music Awards’ “New Female Vocalist of the Year category.” Sunny shares the story behind her ACM campaign video “Click In The Box,” a spoof of Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg‘s infamous “D**k In A Box.” Voting for the award will remain open through Feb. 4. The 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards will be held April 7, 2013 in Las Vegas.

Hunter Hayes Celebrates 1st #1 for “Wanted”

Hunter Hayes scored his first number one for “Wanted” and Yallwire was there to talk to him about the accomplishment. Hunter fills us in on what lies ahead for 2013, including going back on the road with Carrie Underwood and his recent time in the studio. I also caught up with co-writer Troy Verges who celebrated his fifth number one with “Wanted.” The song is nominated as Best Country Solo Performance at this year’s GRAMMY Awards where 21-year-old Hunter stacked up a total of three nominations including Best New Artist and Best Country Album. His No. 1 record-breaking hit makes Hunter the youngest solo male act to top the Country Songs charts.

Records album, Only A Mountain. The former American Idol contestant sat down with me to talk about rejoicing alongside a broad new audience of fellow believers. The project, he says, is kind of a breakthrough and “feels like this veil has been lifted.”

Raised in the church by a musical family of Colombian descent, Castro talks about his Christmas traditions that he now shares with his wife and baby. We also chat about the upcoming winter jam tour, Christian Music’s largest annual tour.

Only A Mountain is set to be released January 15th.

Jennifer Nettles to host CMA Country Christmas




I caught up with a very pregnant Jennifer Nettles for Yallwire, as she announced plans to host the CMA Country Christmas special for her third year. Jennifer talks about starting new holiday traditions with the baby, the emotional mood swings of being pregnant and how Sugarland will be taking some time off from the road.

Some of the artists scheduled to join Jennifer for this years “CMA Country Christmas” include Dierks Bentley, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride and Keith Urban. Tickets are on sale now for the show that will tape in front of a live audience Nov. 3 at the Bridgestone Arena. For the first time, audience members are being encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the taping to help make the holidays brighter for Nashville area children.

George Strait announces farewell tour, but not retiring

Country music legend George Strait is hanging up his hat! At least as far as touring is concerned. George has just announced his final tour plans and Yallwire was there for this special announcement, that Martina McBride also stopped by for.

Eric Church tops the list of final noms for “The 46th Annual CMA Awards”

NASHVILLE – Eric Church tops the list of final nominees for “The 46th Annual CMA Awards” with five nominations. The reigning CMA Female and Male Vocalist of the Year Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton each received four nominations. Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Little Big Town, and Taylor Swift each received three nominations for Country Music’s Biggest Night™.

For the seventh year, the announcement of the final nominees in five of the 12 CMA Awards categories was made live on ABC News’ “Good Morning America” with Aldean and Luke Bryan delivering the news from the heart of New York City’s Times Square.
